The number ten is a very important mathematical concept for students to grasp.10' x 10' trade show booth They will need to know all of the ways to make ten and how to decompose numbers into multiples of 10. It is also helpful for them to be able to understand the place value of the number in decimal form.

In the decimal system, '10' represents 'ten single units'.10' x 10' trade show booth It is a positional number that uses the base 10 system of numerals (which is also used in base 2). There are 10 different decimal symbols, each representing a particular part of a number. This positional system of numbers is what allows us to communicate the amount of a quantity by shifting it's place on a number line. This is why it is so important to introduce the number 10 early on in a child's education.

There are a variety of hands-on activities and games that can help students learn all of the ways to make ten. These activities and math games are fun, engaging, and will have students well on their way to mastering the skills of making ten.

One of my favorite games to play is Around the World. This game requires a deck of cards and a group of students to play. Have students divide into pairs and give each pair a set of cards. Each student must ask another student if they have the card that they need to make a ten. If the other student has that card they get to lay it down. The first student to complete a full set wins the round. It is a great hands-on activity that is easy to set up and will have students asking each other all of the ways to make ten.

Another fun activity to do is Ten Frame Match. Give each student a ten frame and dice. Have them roll the dice and see if they can match up their number to someone else's ten frame. This is a fun game that will have kids talking about all the ways to make ten and getting practice with their addition skills.

Lastly, a simple and fun way to reinforce all of the ways to make ten is to have students create their own rainbow craft. This is a great visual for students to see all of the ways to make ten and will have them remembering all of these ways to make ten even when they are away from school. By providing these fun activities and games, along with sending home some suggestions for review at home, your students will be well on their way to making ten in no time!
